Jody Evans is currently the head coach of the cross country and track and field teams for the Tonasket High School in Tonasket, Washington. Jody also coaches adult runners and is an avid runner herself.

Jody’s coaching philosophy is simple and that is “to get you running and racing as fast as you can while staying healthy and injury free.  Jody’s approach also fosters and supports a lifelong love for the sport of running at all distances and for all ability levels”. Jody believes in holistically supporting her athletes from training and racing, to nutrition and fitness, as well as tackling the mental challenges of balancing life, health and running.

Jody grew up playing soccer and softball and a myriad of other sports but didn’t find her true passion, racing, until college. After breaking her father’s heart by not playing soccer in college, Jody enjoyed a successful career as a D1 collegiate rower for the University of Washington where she rowed for four years and was a member of the 1994 2V8 National Champion boat. After college, Jody was looking for ways to stay in shape and continue to race (one of her most favorite things in the world) and running was an obvious choice.

Jody ran her first marathon in Montana in 1998 and has enjoyed a long career of running and racing. She has completed 13 marathons, three of which were with Boston qualifying times. In 2016 while working as a licensed nutritionist, Jody decided to take the next step in her running journey by pursuing becoming a running coach. Since that time Jody has gained multiple coaching certifications including Lydiard level II, RRCA level II, USATF level I and VdotO2. Jody combines her own personal experience and knowledge along with her expertise in coaching to help runners of all ability levels set and achieve their goals and even reach beyond them.

Jody would love to join you on your running journey, wherever you are on that journey. She is as happy to work with beginners as she is to work with elite runners. If your goal is to work with a highly motivated and qualified coach who wants to get to know you as a person and a runner then you have found your coach. She looks forward to working with you.
